I was going to do a run, but once I got on the treadmill at the gym, I realized I was getting out of steam and I still had an hour long bike ride home, so I just walked for five minutes and then did a little stretching and a couple of sets of leg extensions on the machine.
Gas is hitting $4 a gallon, and as an environmentalist and a crank, I'm so pleased to see people in their giant trucks and range rovers, one of which, of course, nearly ran me off the road, which is par for the course on any ride over 3 miles. Please, my large-vehicled friends, whine some more about the $60 you spent to fill it up. It feeds my self-righteous soul. Sure, it took me four hours to do routine errands. Then again, if I had driven, it would have taken me about an hour and then what am I supposed to do with the other three hours?
Seriously people, get a bike. I'd much rather be complaining about people clogging the bike lane than about almost getting hit by a jackass in a giant truck with giant wheels (How is the off-roading in downtown Portland these days?).
