Dog Mountain

We took a nice climb here http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/Dog_Mountain_0000.asp yesterday.

Pretty tough little workout. In retrospect, I’m glad I had my wife along as an anchor or I probably wouldn’t have been able to get out of bed this morning. As it is, my legs and calves are quite tight. It took us five hours and I must say that it might have been a bit early in the season, but we did it. Unfortunately, we forgot the camera so you’ll just have to trust me when I say the view was perfect and the flowers were in full bloom with all the color you could ask for.
Since this is a short week for me, I pretty much did my workout for the week.

I have decided to go ahead with a five mile run to keep on increasing one mile per week, and I’ll add a “long” swim of 50 laps as well. Plus, I’ll probably bike the rest of the week. And suddenly this went from a mellow week to a 10 hour grind in a blink. Maybe I’ll catch a short week next week…

The good news is I tried out my new Chopat band and it seemed to work pretty well. I only used it on my left knee and neither knee is sore today, so the jury is still out. But it gave me a good placebo effect.
